A long time ago (August ) five sociologists told us about their holiday reading. The Sociological Review is one of the world’s foremost journals for sociological inquiry in all traditions, with over years of publishing high quality and innovative articles.

The journal is committed to the far-reaching intellectualism of sociological thought as well as championing a cause: that sociology matters. Most reviews are short, single publication pieces; reviews in Qualitative Research and Sociology of Health and Illness are typically words, while reviews in The Sociological Review are a little longer at words.

However, Review Editors may also be interested in receiving long-form reviews and review essays which bring together two. This is clearly demonstrated through The Sociological Review’s blog series, edited by Brigit McWade and including contributions by Akiko Hart and Chris Millard, which focused particularly on the role of social media in relation to self-harm and frameworks of contagion.
